Weapons are used to inflict damage to opponents. Weapon types include swords, flails, axes, spears, javelins, glaives and more!
Each weapon has specific rules and limitations on how it should be constructed. This information is available in The Book of War
Some common materials for making weapons are listed below.
| Material | Available At | Cost (Approx) | Notes |
| Closed-Cell Polyethylene Foam | Wal-Mart Canadian Tire Home Depot |
$10.00 to $13.00 (Camping pad) $45.00 (Carpet underlay foam from Home Depot) |
Camping Pads - Commonly referred to as "Blue Foam". Ideal for striking surfaces, haft padding or pommels. Carpet Underlay is similar, but more dense and should not be used on the outer layer of a striking surface (As it may strike too hard). |
| Open-Cell Foam | Upholstry Stores Wal-Mart |
Often free scraps from upholstry stores. $3.00-$10.00 from Wal-Mart depending on amount purchased |
Extremely soft "cushion foam" used for stabbing weapons and rocks. |
| PVC Piping | Home Depot Canadian Tire |
$4.00-$12.00 depending on thickness and length. Usually available in 5' and 10' lengths. | Used for most weapon cores. Short weapons generally use a 1/2" or 3/4" core. Longer weapons generally use a 3/4" or 1" core. |
| Fiberglass Rods | Not available locally. May be ordered online. | $8.00-$15.00 depending on length and diameter. | Ideal material for weapon cores. Lightweight and much less likely to break in comparison to PVC Cores. Tends to bend less than PVC, making it essential for longer weapons. |
| Contact Cement | Wal-Mart (Small containers only) Home Depot Canadian Tire |
$6.00 (250ml) $11.00 (500ml) $50.00 (3.7L). Cheaper to buy in large quantities. |
Used for bonding foam layers of weapons together and bonding foam to weapon core. |
| Pipe Insulation, Pool Noodles | Wal-Mart Home Depot Canadian Tire |
$1.00-$3.00 | Used for haft padding only. Should not be used on striking surface as this foam breaks down quickly and striking surfaces made of it would not last. |
